Recent Study Shows Insurance Premiums Skyrocket After DUI Convictions

A recent study posted by carinsurance.com revealed that it is not only dangerous to drink and drive but it can also hurt your pocket book.  The data disclosed by RateWatch and insurance.com showed that those who have been convicted of DUI or DWI pay, on average, 38 percent more per year on car insurance premiums than those who don't have a conviction.

If charged with a DUI you are looking at thousands of dollars in court costs, fines, possible community service, attorney fees and based on the above data, an increase in you insurance premiums.  Remember to call that cab to take you home from the bars folks.
